Umbrellas for Peace Project
Lamb Umbrellas for Peace Project (LU4P)is a way to promote art, peace, empowerment, love, tolerance and hope. Participants paint their hopes and dreams on the tops of the umbrellas and fears and griefs on the underside. The umbrella represents protection and action by the individual to take advantage of the protection. Participants then parade through the community to bring peace to the community.
The project was first done after the September 11, 2001 Pentagon attack and has now been done in 24 countries with over 600,000 paricipants. In 2009, there will be over 10,000 in the Chicagoland area alone! For more information click here.
