Painting Stimulates Alzheimer Patients
My volunteer work began several years ago as a small class teaching art to Alzheimer patients at a Life Care Center. As I noticed how painting stimulated the right brain, and my students began to IMPROVE, I began to take note of the importance of art in our development.
I have done many lessons for Alzheimers, entered their work in contests, held art shows for their children, and given speeches on the success of this program. My volunteer time is now limited, but I still participate as much as I can, and actively involve my children and relatives when possible.
