Coloring Outside the Lines
Publicolor is a non-for-profit organization that uses color, collaboration, design, and the painting process to re-engage student in their education, schools and communities; to ultimately transform them into productive members of our workforce. Publicolor is a living, breathing, growing community. Community leaders, volunteers, teachers, school administrators, corporate and foundation sponsors, private donors, tutors, and students live in this community and make it better.
Americans for the Arts staff members from the New York office, John Cloys, Emily Peck, and Timarie Harrigan recently volunteered with Publicolor, a New York City nonprofit that aims to improve education in youth by promoting an imaginative use of color in school buildings. They brightened up the New York public school with paint and discussion about the arts.
